When you begin a new feed you will firstly be prompted to create your feed properties. This creates the "header" of your feed and describes all of the items of which your feed comprises.

The feed properties screen contains the same fields, whether you are creating a REAL ESTATE feed or a GENERAL feed.

Certain information will be pre-populated if you have filled out your program OPTIONS.

We will now examine each field of this screen:

IMPORTANT: Always give your feeds a unique TITLE for every feed. The title is used as the feed's FILE NAME.

1. FEED TITLE

The name that will appear at the very top of your feed page. This field will also become the FILE NAME of your feed's local copy and published XML file. Keep this as brief and pointed as possible.
Example: If your feed contains a set of items of property listings in the Sydney metropolitan area, your title might be "New Real Estate Listings - Sydney Metro Region".

2. YOUR SITE'S URL

The web address of your site's home page or other page of relevance to all items contained in your feed. Always include the prefix http://.

3. FEED DESCRIPTION

One or two paragraphs of text to describe your feed. Keep in mind that you should include pointed vocabulary so that search engines locate your feed when people are searching for information about your feed's subject.

4. COPYRIGHT

If the contents of your feed are under copyright, you can add the copyright string here.

5. WEBMASTER E-MAIL

the e-mail address of the person to whom queries about this feed should be addressed if your subscribers require more information.

Feed Title Image

This section can be used to place a logo graphic at the top of your feed. This will only be viewable to those who have subscribed to your feed. These fields are OPTIONAL. You may leave them blank if you do not wish to display an image at the top of your feed.

6. IMAGE URL

The web address of the image you wish to use. Always commence with the prefix http://. Your image must ALREADY BE HOSTED on a web server. After entering the web address and navigating away from this field, the image will appear in the box to the right if it has been correctly referenced.

7. IMAGE HYPERLINK URL

The web page to which people should be sent when they click on your image. Always commence with the prefix http://.

8. IMAGE CAPTION

The mouse-over text which the user will see when they place their cursor over your image.
